Our initial assignment was to implement a training concept in production at Schwartauer Werke, where the well-known jam 🍓 and Corny bars are produced. However, after the kick-off for the "SAP introduction" project at the latest, it was clear that we would design the entire training concept, create training material and implement a training plan integrated into everyday production. The project team was made up of Schwartau employees and offstandards trainers (Nadine Röske, Annelie Jackwerth, Björn Rose, Jens-Peer Könnecke and Hagen Regier). After a cooperative conception phase, we prepared ourselves for the following challenging training weeks in an intensive train-the-trainer session.
Since the beginning of November, we have been training the new processes and the new tools with around 600 production employees. It was a very special time for them and for us. We decided together in the project team that we didn't want to provide purely functional, technical training, but instead wanted to make the training fun, dynamic and exciting.
We had set up the training rooms as a course to simulate the production process steps. Moving boxes were now the 'training pallets', poster photos of production illustrated the real setting and then it was already time to move material from A to B, consume strawberries, print new labels, book in final goods and send them to end customers - all with the scanner in hand to practice the practical application directly.
At the beginning of January, we accompanied the Go Live! and were still available for questions and spontaneous training sessions during the subsequent hyper care phase. The training concept and materials will continue to be used at Schwartauer Werke for follow-up training and new employees.
The initially critical, anxious and worried looks on the employees' faces quickly turned into smiling faces that said: It's not that difficult! 😀
